Hemi charger motor noise. The 57 Hemi is one of the most popular gasoline engines in North America and its pretty reliable for the most part however no engine is perfect and the 57 certainly has its flaws. These engines are known to snap exhaust manifold bolts and the MDS may be pretty stubborn at times but the most notorious problem on the 57 Hemi is the ticking noise dubbed the Hemi tick. If the engine is damaged and Dodge knows it was because you let the oil level get too low they will probably put you on the hook for it.
The Hemi tick in my Charger is not as loud as the tick in my 2002 Dakota with the 47L. The 47L has ticked ever since it was new and it runs like the day I bought it. What causes the Hemi tick anyway.
That is the pictures I submitted earlier. We tried the Hemi Tick package it didnt change and he pulled the engine apart and found the cam as pictured. He rebuilt the engine with a bigger cam and ported heads and now runs the ACES IV and our 125w40 QuantumBlue in his 61L Hemi Challenger with no noise at allbeerchug.
Well for the short time I was driving my Mag around I did hear the ticking noise. I also have a Subaru that has had the same noise for 4 years. While driving the 06 Hemi Charger loaner I have not noticed any noise at all from the engine its as smooth and quiet as.

61l HEMI Lifter Noise Question. I have been searching for a clear answer to this for awhile now do the 2006 61l HEMIs have the same liftervalve issues that the 57l has. Recently my engine just hit 110k has been making a lot of noise that sounds like it is coming from the heads.
It has always been quite noisy but there is one new. For others the 57 Hemi has a pretty loud ticking sound either on startup or after its completely warmed up. Not to be confused with a broken exhaust manifold bolts this is a metal on metal tick that comes from the internals of the engine most likely from the lifters although thats never been proven 100.

Even if I let the Hemi warm up for a few minutes when I pull into traffic and have to accelerate on the aggressive side it sounds like a rod. There is no way any engine with hydraulic lifters should be making this much noise. If this was a Chevy or Ford engine the dealership would already have it torn down to find the problem.
6 Oct 10 2017. You can remove the serp belt and run the car for a minute to see if the sound changes or goes away. If so your issue is with a belt driven accessory ie tensioner alternator water pump AC clutch or power steering pump.
If the water pump is belt driven do not run it more than a minute or two. Multiple owners have complained about the 2011-2013 Dodge RAM exhibiting a mysterious ticking noise while in operation. You can learn more about the infamous HEMI engine.

2016 22k miles daily driver all stock aside from adding a catch can and swapped bullet mufflers in place of the mid-mufflers. At approximately 95000 mile I had my rocker arm shaft lifter assembly replaced under warranty due to a broken rocker arm and loud knocking noises coming from my engine. 10000 miles later a rocker arm broke on the new assembly. Well wait no longer after a while of searching I finally found the file that the buffalo uses and mad a beefier engine sound for it. Some sounds in GTA V are really nice and sound really good. Chrysler has used rocker shafts for years on the Gen III Hemi.
Oil feeds from engine galleries up one of the rocker shaft pedestals pressurizes the rocker shaft through the rocker arm down the pushrod and finally to the lifter. The cam bearings have their own oil passages. The conservative oil changes I think are in part to insure that oil.

My makes a ticking sound when idling but it makes a loud clicking sound while driving which to me sounds like a beat up Honda civic or something that has a 4 banger engine instead of a v8. At the bottom of the invoice was the amount the repair would have cost the customer without the warranty. The first one I looked at was for a 2012 Hemi Challenger with over 100K miles.
The customer brought it in due to engine noise and a check engine light. After studying the invoice for a few minutes it became obvious it was lifter failure.
